Crop Protection Measures

Different types of insects, pests, herbs, shrubs and other factors damage crops. Damaged crop reduces the yearly yield of country. Some of the insects are beneficial like Honey Bee because they provide relief to human being. In Pakistan yearly production of natural honey is 7,500 metric tons. But the other side of story is very dangerous. Bugs are considered deadly for crop production. Like Boll worm causes drying of roots by boring into it.

                                 

Some common diseases:

Some common diseases are listed below.

• Bacterial Spot: Its a bacterial disease, bacterial will discolor the leaf  by producing dark brown lesion.In humid areas this disease can be prevented by avoiding work among wet plants.
• Black Spot: It is a fungal disease common on roses. This disease causes  leaf drop. We can prevent plant by delivering water to the base of plant keeping foliage dry.
• Powdery Mildew: A white powder type some fungus attacks during dry and humid weather. We can protect our plant by keep spacing between plants. Allow the air to circulate properly.
• Rust: A fungal disease that cause red-brown spots and deforms leave. Its control is usually not much easy. We can protect crop by promoting healthy growing conditions. 

Crop Preventive Measures:

We can protect our crops by utilizing different methods. Some of these are organic and some are in organic or chemical. We can apply insecticides and pesticides to kill insects and pests. But some how these chemicals may affect human health. And further the insects are now developed against these chemicals. We can also protect our crops by organic way without using any chemical. 

B.T. Cotton is an example of  developed variety to protect cotton. But this variety is not affected for this time. Because pests and insects have developed themselves against this variety.
