Why Wheat Crop Damage?

Following are the reasons of damage of Wheat Crop.

  • The farming community do not sow seed on recommended time.
  • Poor management of Crop Protection.
  • Apply unnecessary fertilizers and pesticides.
  • Poor management of irrigation.

So, these are some common mistakes due to which the farmers have to face loss in their yield. In the following we will discuss that how to protect our wheat crops and increase yield of wheat.

How To Increase Yield of Wheat Crop?

  • Seed should be sown at proper time. Due to delay harvesting of sugar can farmers do not sow the wheat grain at proper time. The best recommended time to sow seed is late November and early December. Farmers make this first mistake because sowing seed late will delay the process of harvesting. Seed does not grow properly and necessary nutrients will not present in the grain. Ultimately desired yield will not obtain. So, seed should be sown at proper time.
  •  Farming community actually do not know about the proper management tools. They do not perform tillage operations properly. Because sugarcane crop has deep roots and to sow the seed a deep tillage is required to eradicate remains of last crop. Due to unavailability of resources our farmer can not afford such kind of Implements.
  • Unnecessary application of  fertilizers and pesticides will result in less yield. Due to lack of knowledge farmer utilized different kinds of pesticides. These pesticides and fertilizers will affect adversely on the crops.
  • In Pakistan irritation system is not much well. Supply of water is very low due to which farmer can not irrigate his crops properly. In the early stages seed require huge amount of water for proper germination. Less rate of germination due to inadequate supply of water results in less yield.
And when the crop becomes fully mature the farmer delayed process of harvesting. This is the season when rain starts in Sub-continent and most of the yield waste. Due to insufficient availability of machinery poor farming community do not earn much amount of profit.

So, you can protect crops by adopting simple protective measures.
